Kodak Black Dissed Lil Wayne On Stage Saying "You Should've Died When You Was A Baby"
The rap game is fucking WILD. I would usually be grinning ear to ear to see a rap beef potentially spark up like this but not against my guy Lil Wayne. Saying he should have died as a baby was an out of left field low blow considering Lil Wayne almost died as a child in an incident where he accidentally shot himself and was saved by a cop who refused to leave him to die. To this day the cop has refused to even take a cent from Weezy and Wayne has gotten emotional talking about it on multiple occasions. I’ve been outspoken about my love for Lil Wayne so call me biased if you want but Kodak going out of his way to say this makes absolutely no sense.
1) They already did this song and dance when Kodak said Lil Wayne ain’t best rapper alive (jab at Lil Wayne song “Best Rapper Alive”) even though he admitted he wouldn’t/couldn’t go bar for bar with him. Not to mention they already had squashed the beef and Lil Wayne was even featured on Kodak’s new album.
2) I highly doubt Lil Wayne is going to respond to this. Lions don’t concern themselves with the opinions of sheep and he has in the past taken the stance to not punch down. It’s all good though because Weezy’s oldest daughter Reginae came to his defense on Instagram.
Just to make it even crazier the mother of Reginae Carter, Toya Wright jumped in and Kodak came back with a SAVAGE response.
I hate that Kodak had to go do this and fuck everything up. I like Kodak I really do. He gets a bad rap (and sometimes rightly so) for doing/saying ignorant shit like this but he makes great music and has for a few years now at a very young age. His most recent album “Dying to Live” came from such a deep and unique perspective. The intro song “Testimony” is so deep and poetic it made fools think maybe he was turning over a new leaf. (Yes I am a fool.)
I don’t know if this is just Kodak saying reckless shit to a rap legend to get publicity or if there actually is some underlying beef that is going on with Lil Wayne but no matter what I’ll always be #TeamWeezy and that’s a promise.
Kodak went on instagram live to address what he said so take it as you will. He seems to dance around it and implies like he was making a joke playfully talking shit to a close friend that got taken out of context but I don’t see where they possibly could have became close enough to say shit like that.
